THE Australian Navys war-fighting ability has been blunted by the Federal Governments efforts to keep asylum seekers out — a policy so unpopular that some sailors have feigned illness or quit rather than enforce it.Defence documents obtained by The Sunday Age reveal that sailors have deliberately avoided serving in the blockade, which was imposed by the Howard Government in the run-up to the 2001 election.
